I found this amazing gift idea at
Black and White. She does have a pattern for sale to make these boots, but I decided I woul just try and wing it. My trial boots came out pretty good, but I know what to fix with the next boots! There are going to be SEVERAL family members and friends getting these for christmas! Each boot with the lining and outer takes about 1 yard of fabric. If you want the lining to be a different color like mine, use a half yard of one color and a half yard of another. Then you can dress them up however you want.
If you look closely mine are a bit uneven. Oh well. If you want to buy the pattern for these so yours can be PERFECT. Go to
Black and White and buy her pattern!
These are adorable! They look so comfy and warm : )
ReplyDeleteThey look GREAT! The pattern isn't mine, but that Etsy store has some great patterns to choose from!
ReplyDeleteI tailored mine to fit snugly... Before sewing the lining & the exterior together (and before attaching the sole), I tried them on inside out & pinned them to fit my leg. Then I sewed along that line & trimmed the excess. Be careful not to make them too small! I did that the first time and couldn't get my foot in! haha!
These are so cute!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I just posted ( http://maemaedaily.com/2010/11/toddler-bootie/ ) about a toddler bootie. They turn out so cute but when I tried to modify it for my 5 year old it looked horrible :) I'll have to try something like yours. Good job!
ReplyDeleteThey look great! I want to try little boots like this but I'll have to wait a few months now as we're just into summer here!
