I had absolutely no idea what these little wing things that came out were for. They folded right under the desk. Later I found out this was an old vanity, and they use to attach fabric to the wings. Weird. I just left them folded under, and with a little white and gray paint and a stencil and new handles. My final product.
I think it is for sale, but it is so cute and would look great in our bedroom... we will see what happens!
That's really cute!! It would look cute with some white/gray/silver printed fabric to hang on those wings too!!

This looks so amazing! I usually see things like this on the curb and wish I had a big enough car so i could get them home and play with them! Nicely done! I'm your newest follower and have a blog - it's just starting out - if you want to check it out! http://breezypinkdaisies.blogspot.com

ReplyDeleteStop by and visit, I redo furniture too!
Oh, this desk with those odd wings (you didn't like them but I kind of do, however, wouldn't change a thing because your design turned out great) is what got me looking into your blog. You have been busy! All of your furniture re-creations are beautifully done. You have a really good eye and have found really cute pieces. I wish I had more time. The food looked great and the little girl clothes (my granddaughters) are so sweet! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI was searching for this desk and came across your blog. I just picked one up for $9 and plan to refinish it. I love to hear the story about the wings! You did a great job!
